Misfits - Brilliant Comedy or Chavy Rubbish

I hear a lot of people talking about how wonderful this show is but to me it just looks like a bunch of chavs with superpowers. Is this a brilliant show or is this one for the chavs.

OP, why don't you watch it on 4oD and then make a decision?

Yes, it has chavs in it ..the storyline couldn't exist without it .. but it's not for chavs.

Because if I make a this thread and everyone says that its chavy rubbish for chavs then I won't bother watching wheras now I know that it isn't I will start to. Does it matter?

It's not really a comedy is it?

I liked it and enjoyed it, but I never watched it as a comedy.
I just saw it as a drama with humour here and there.

I was going to say that. It's not meant to be a comedy. There's funny party but mainly from Robert Sheehan's character.

I really like it. It took me a while to watch because I never seen it when it was broadcast so I had to catch the repeats earlier this year but it was worth it.

I'm looking forward to it coming back.

In relation to the chavvy thing... I think it's far from it. It's easy to label something "chavvy" just because of what the characters are portraying.

So Dad's Army is only for old solders? Faulty Towers only for hotel owners? Spooks is only for employees of MI5? Star Trek is only for astronauts?

One of the silliest posts I've seen here, and there is a lot of competition!

Yes, it has chavs in it, but it isn't just for chavs.

What, you have just taken what I said and completely blown out of proportion. If I saw an advert on Faulty Towers it would clearly be a comedy, Dad's Army would clearly be a comedy set in the war, Spooks would clearly be a Spy Action-Thriller and Star Trek would clearly be a sci-fi.

When I saw the ad for Misfits it was a Chav Superhero Show last time I checked that wasn't a genre. Now I know it's not.

Fantastic programme, i wouldnt say its a comedy though. Well drawn characters in it, and well acted. Can't wait for the next series, and a great idea, young offenders with superhuman powers! :D

I only watched the first episode because I used to live on the horrible estate they film it on, but got into it, and am very much looking forward to the second series :D

E4/C4 are notorious for doing anti-adverts for their shows - I missed the first couple of eps first time around because the "promotion"

Even the aRAB for the This is England series would have deterred me from watching if not for the film
