Within a couple month time frame...
1)I had my RK up on some homemade ramps while changing the oil...had the jiffy stand on a block. About the time I was yanking on the ratchet trying to remove the oil drain plug and thinking "hmm...I hope I don't pull the bike over on myself"...it came over. Almost got me good. Luckily, only damage was to the heat shield as it hit my socket set. Thank goodness for engine guards. This was my first ever oil change...I won't even go into how much oil was spilled on the garage floor that night! Kinda funny now, looking back.
2)Couple months later when taking the RK down off the Pitbull lift after a thorough detailing...as the wheels were touching down on the same ramps in above story...the bike fell to the right. Dented/scratched my tank on the part of the lift that protects the bottle jack. Bike was completely on its side. As I stood there in disbelief, I assessed the damage...jacked up the hi-way peg and engine guard, bent the brake lever and messed up the heat shield, which, thankfully I hadn't replaced from the prior mishap.
Reason I used the darn ramps in the first place was because of my bike being lowered on top of having a center stand. Needed the ramps to get the Pitbull underneath. As it was laying on it's side...bike all fubar...since I had easy access, I got out my wrench and took off that @#%! center-stand!
Thought about naming the bike "humpty dumpty" after that, but figured it'd be bad karma!
