Was anyone else sad enough to watch Fearne meets Mischa?
Despite Mischa Barton clearly being an absolute horror, I can remember thinking that had I been her watching the programme, I would feel pretty hard done by. As she has expressed:
(The waiting refers to all the waiting around Fearne had to do).
I actually sympathise with her. During these programmes Fearne acts like the subject's best friend, praises them, doesn't complain and then goes and slags them off. It's not just cowardly, it's nonsensical and disparate. And if nothing else it's incredibly poor journalism. When Louis Theroux 'meets' his subjects he ingratiates himself to them whilst continually questioning their lifestyles. Fearne just sucks up to them and tells them how great they are, then as soon as the production team is in the editing studio they do a hatchet job on them.
I don't know what I was expecting, it is Fearne Cotton after all. Clearly a silly show made by a bunch of silly, bitchy girls.
Weirdly enough, though, with the Peaches Geldof one it seemed like she tried to convince us that Peaches was actually OK when it was obvious that she was just a rude tosser who needed sorting out.
