Minors to help get job in Intelligence Field(s)?

I'm a chemical engineering, thinking of applying for jobs in the intelligence community military and otherwise.

I am in my final year, but I have a good amount of space available, so I figured I would get a minor instead of taking random easy classes like my advisor is suggesting.

Would kind of minors would help me better quality for jobs in the intelligence community?

From what I have done, it seems the only areas of study they prefer are political science, international relations, or arabic/mandarin/(russian). Why is political science considered so important? Simply because it theoretically prepares you to look at issues from all points of view?

I don't really have time to fully learn a new language though I am studying spanish to try to get the juices flowing in my brain on languages. Fully prepared to learn them once I have a job, depending on my schedule I may try to learn them beforehand, but I am focusing mainly on finishing my primary major, getting a minor or two (if I do Pol Sci I would only get that, my school only offers international affairs), which seems quite specializing in course offerings...and is probably junk to get for them and for me.

I also thought of studying criminology, though I have no credits in that area and don't really need or want to put too much effort in getting a minor. I already have 3 credits in political science though thru an international relations course I took.

Am also 3 credits away from a psychology minor.
9-12 away from economics.

I would really appreciate some feedback on this.
A few typos in the paragraph, don't feel like resubmitting this though since I cannot make direct changes here.

Again, any help is appreciated.
