MiniSD not compatible with N80?

i went to CC the other day to buy a 2gb mini sd from kingmax. the salesmen told me not to buy it b/c it would not be compatible with my phone. for some reason the nokia would not recognize the "cheaper" brands.

does anyone have a suggestion on what mini sd card to buy. the kingston ones are so much more for the same amount of memory. if i cant buy a cheap one here, i might as well go on ebay and buy one from one of those hong kong sellers

I just feel when I install something on the card, it's just slower process than the orig. 512MB one that Nokia gave with the N80ie. Other than that, so far so good...used around ~1Gb.
 
First mistake was listening to the guy at CC.

It's all made in china, it all adheres to SD standard.. how can it not work?
