Minimum amount of equipment for a 2 gallon fish tank?

I have been searching the internet but there is nowhere that explains what everything is and if i need it. I intend to keep 1 or 2 small freshwater fish and the tank would be located in my bedroom.
Can you please tell me all the equipment i would need (filter, pump, gravel, coral...) but only the bare necessities.
P.s. what types of fish are cheap to own and fit in a small tank?
 
You need just fish and water. A little gravel and small diver or a castle for decoration. That's about it. Treat it like you would a gold fish bowl. In fact gold fish would be your best bet in the tank. Change the water once in a while and feed them .
