Mini-skirt Space Pirates?

You know, my knee jerk reaction to the title was 'OMG JAPAN QUIT MESSIN' WITH PIRATES YOU JERKS!' but then I actually went and read the article.

If this is the same guy who did dirty pair then I sort of imagine that this is going to be akin to 'Pirates of Penzance with chicks... In space' and a whole piss-take on space opera in general; and if that's the case, I can dig it.

Also, in the whole pirates vs ninjas thing... Pirates get better bling. Oh yeah.
