Mini-Review The Song Above You

Great song. I definitely hear some good black metal influences and Crust Punk, as well. That's the kind of sludge that I absolutely adore.

Bah, not enjoying this at all. I think if it were part of a punk/indie album, and this was just a silly acoustic track, I may appreciate it. But on it's own, with no context or if this is the style of all this guy's songs, I can do without it. It does get a little more enjoyable as it goes on, even though his voice gets worse. I just gets more intense and interesting I guess. So as a result my rating has improved a bit from when I first started writing this. It's fun to review as you listen sometimes, innit? :D 6/10

Hell yeah, Band of Joy :-D

Proving that Plant can do more than rock out with Zeppelin, though I suppose he did that back in 07 with Alison Krauss

8.6/10

My favoritest MM song ever

Not a big fan of his vocals. I like the music overall, just nothing special about the singer, it did get a bit boring though. 7/10

It's the sample before the Abraham Lincoln one that I'm talking about ("Where the hell are you? Get up"). The rest is a bit durab, yeah.

What album would you recommend by these guys? I just checked out clips for Tut Tut Now Shake Ya Butt, where this song appears. I'm not sure it would have appealed to me had I not heard this song in its entirety.

10/10...doesn't that guy run Gringott's Wizarding band?....the song was excellent....a nice mixture of dance/electronics and even a kind of 80s/New Order-esque guitar thing going on....the video was great

^^I like the slightly elusive melodies and he's quite good in catching them. I don't know how to rate it, but it has a potential to be a very good song.

EDIT: Only the video is sped up, not the actual music. Just in case if anyone is wondering

7/10 Very epic, made me feel like I was about to go into a war or something. Wasn't a huge fan of the vocals, but they weren't terrible.

Ah, Blonde Redhead. I usually love them, but I haven't heard this album, or this song before. I didn't know what to make of it, didn't do much for me right away. So I listened to it two more times and I must say that it's possibly a grower. Nice, warm melody that sometimes drags a bit. I would've liked it more if it were more direct. 6,5/10
