Mini-Review The Song Above You

Hmmm... interesting, to say the least. Definitely not something I would've listened to on my own, but it's okay for what it is. Just too repetitive for my tastes.

Damn, I listened to each of the last two. Sorry Charlemagne, I don't have it in me to do another. :(

For the record, that ATCQ song was awesome and The Dream Syndicate one was k, although nothing in particular stood out about it...

reminRAB me of weezer :p: 7/10

not that bad though (neither is weezer) just something about the alternative-ness that just doesn't do it for me. it's kind of like i already had my banRAB for those times from back in those day. dig?

i freaking love this video hahaha

You beat me to the Residents song and agree its a killer track. I didn`t know too much about Yo La Tengo but really liked the song 7/10 could be higher on further listens.

One of the tracks from "Forever Changes" one of the greatest albums recorded in the 60`s, sadly I couldn`t find a better sound quality.

8/10 I really dig the song. It's a pretty sweet folky song. The vocalist sounRAB like Thom Yorke and the brass section was interesting, but sounded good.

Well, the instrumentals are definitely pretty enjoyable, and without a doubt my favourite part. His voice threw me off a bit, and not like the way that Mustaine's voice throws people off, more like just a bit unnecessary IMO. Then again, punk to me always seemed a kinda meh. 6.5/10

Really not a fan of the video, for some reason I can tolerate violent/gory videogames but movies just make me queasy. The song was quite enjoyable, though. 7.5/10

^^Very good! I had to hear it twice, because the song is the opposite of 'in your face' with its subtle development and building. That's what I like the most about it, it seems to have a genuine emotion. I'm not sure how to rate it, maybe 8/10 for now, but I have a feeling that after many listens I will LOVE it.

And now for something completely different:

Fugazi - Arpeggiator

^^^I enjoyed it very much. This is the kind of jazz that is appealing to me, so I'll probably look into this Art Blakey Quintet more. Not sure how to rate it at this point, I'll need more listens for that, but the first reaction is positive.

I'm honestly not sure if I liked that or not but it was interesting and unlike anything that I listen to so thank you for exposing me to it I guess........

^That was alright mostly. The changes weren't too random, but it did have moments where it dragged a bit. I would have liked it more if the vocal wasn't so damn persistent. 6/10
