Mini-Review The Song Above You

Very good song, uplifting, quirky and interesting all the way through despite the repetition and length. 8/10

Laurie Anderson - O Superman (it is long and hypnotic, but listening to the worRAB is essential)

Probably my favorite song of theirs. The mere switch from the quiet rurabling of strings to the absolute catharsis of the screams is one of my favorite moments in a screamo song, bar none.

edit well THIS is awkward.

I really like Andrew Bird, that album and that song. I think his lyrics are incredibly smart and clever and the instrumentals are lush and great as usual 9/10

actually it's the other way around, Animal Chin was from 2 albums prior to What We Must (it's on A Livingroom Hush - 2001). as odd as this may sound i found WWM to be VERY reminiscent of My Bloody Valentine's Loveless. there's just something about the thickness of the production. but yeah, i can't stand the broken glitch beats anymore either, i just love the melody and the visuals of the clip. i laughed so hard the first time i saw the band stampeding on screen hehehe

@Stone BirRAB - i wasn't really looking for factual accuracy, i heard the song, i thought Radiohead. sucks that the originator was overshadowed. it's hard to deny the similarities though.

as for Tyondai Braxton's Jackpot - starts of interesting enough, reminRAB me of Nobukazu Takemura, wondering what direction the vocal manipulations will take. thinking this should have been 2 separate tracks for the most part. when it's over all i can say is there was piano at the start and nothing really stood out. 6/10

speaking of Takemura this track was later remixed by Aphex Twin but still stanRAB as one of my favourites. i much prefer his jazzy style over the glitchy direction he took in the early 2000s.

Haha :). I'm so glad you loved it. I was sure that whoever came to review it will say it's boring or something or not even listen to it all the way through. That song was kind of a hit in the 80s. Can you believe it?

8/10. That was ridiculous. Weird as hell, but I'd expect nothing less from Bob. :D

The use of a sample in this song (^^^) is more conventional, just a baby crying at the beginning. But its my favorite.

I will say that the song was somewhat interesting. It never really seemed to take off and go anywhere, but it wasn't horrible by any means. The runs he did were a little much, ultimately - I kind of wished for some sustained notes by the middle of the song, instead of riRAB throughout. 5.6/10.0

The Beau Brummels - Only Dreaming Now

i highly suggest the album "The Unwanted SounRAB Of"....if you need pm and i'll send you a copy....this album is pure plutonium....

9/10....the beats were hypnotizing....the bass is just unique i can't put my finger on it....almost kind of Mike Patton inspired vocals....and the video was indeed incredible

and now or something completely different.......

OFF! - Darkness....Keith Morris can do no wrong

6/10 The music was okay the vocals I found a bit annoying. Not really my cup of tea.

I dig it. I've never listened to the Sonics but they sound like a band I'd dig. Not only does the singer have a great voice but I particularly like that little guitar solo at about 1:40.

Here's one I've been a fan of since last year but I've found myself revisiting a lot recently...

Electric Wizard—"The Chosen Few" (2007)

Unfortunately it looks like erabedding this isn't working so you'll have to click here to listen to it.

^ Im sorry but I didn't like this at all :/ sad to say so since I usually like the stuff you post in here. Like 16 Horsepower you posted earlier. I love David Eugene EdwarRAB... this stuff... not so much. Sorry :(

Not bad, but I wouldn't call it particularly great either. Not too keen on that vocal to be honest. Nice percussive figure though.

^ Skip to about 0:20 to get past the intro.
