Gale A. Norton was secretary from 2001 and 2006. During that time people from the MMS were sleeping with people from the oil companies, receiving lavish gifts, and getting cozy jobs, and doing meth off of office toasters. In fact Mrs Norton got a nice job with Shell after she left office.

You did a heck of a job Galey

How different would this criminal act be if it were perpetrated by Al Qaeda and not BP?

One involves the idea of malice. The other involves the idea of negligence and corruption.

Ken Salazar is no different than any other Bush appointee. To be fair he was only in office for roughly a year.

What is sickening is that Inhofe blocked the increase on accident liability proposed by the Dems

So you're saying Obama's appointees are just as bad as Bush appointees? I can go along with that.

actually in many if not most states "oil and gas" does not fall under mineral rights and thus might not have been part of MMS

He tries too hard to bring in people from the other side. If you're a liberal, hire liberals, don't get a conservative because they are a conservative. Get someone who is inline with your ideals, or if you're hell bent on getting a different view point, then make sure it's from someone worth a damn.

Let's just be honest. His appointments are shitty in general, ideology aside. Although I'm impressed by his coast guard point man with the oil mess. I can't recall his name right now.
