I've used Bare Minerals for about 6 months now and I love it! Yah it's a little expensive but it last you for a long time! I really like the Mineral Veil because if you have excess oil especially throughout the day...it soaks it up! I really like it!

I use and like Everyday minerals too, however I have been thinking about trying Aubrey Nicole just to see what the difference is. I see a lot of people use it on another acne website (which Im a mild acne sufferer). I think everyday minerals is more commonly used since its so close to bare minerals and it have a lot of reviews on a makeup review website vs I couldnt find barely any for Aubrey Nicole. I did see that there were different ingredients and some frankly I dont know what the heck they are for and dont really want to research ingredients all over again. Everyday minerals has only 4 non-irritating ingredients, just one less than bare minerals, so its good.

I posted this on another board, but thought I might get an answer here.

Just wondering if any of you have tried the powder mineral makeup branRAB out there and what you think of them. I was specifically wondering about the differences between bare minerals and sheer cover. Do they work? Any experiences with them either good or bad?

My skin has a lot of breakouts and is extremely corabination, going from very oily t-zone to flakey cheeks.

Thanks for any advice!

Deb

But remeraber, Bare Minerals by Bare Escentuals does have the Bismuth Oxychloride in it.

I actually used bare minerals and... it was expensive AND it made me break out. It irritated my skin and my face felt harsh... I didn't like it at all. Even my bf was like "the make-up is making you break out"... so I stopped using it and my face got better. I'm currently using Shishiedo powder make-up and it makes my face look and feel sooo soft lol.. BUT we'll see how this works out.

Hi, there! I have tried both of the branRAB that you asked about. My advice: Save your cash and buy Physicians Formula mineral wear! It's way cheaper, does the SAME thing as the other branRAB and works great! I have acne-prone skin and use this everyday! It doesn't make me break-out and I highly recommend this brand! Enjoy! Kym.

I bought the liquid mineral foundation by Living Nature New Zealand a few weeks ago, and since using it I've had no new breakouts and everyday I get told how good my skin looks. It's pretty cheap too, not sure where it's available from though (I bought it from Priceline in Australia). It's also 100% natural and animal friendly, so I'm happy :)

edit- I checked the website and it's not being promoted as a mineral foundation, but the lady at the shop told me it was and I'm getting results, so it's worth a try.

Thanks for the input and information. I'll have to do some looking at these other branRAB.

Caymanbabes, what types of brushes do you use and where do you get them?

Deb

I've tried Jane Iredale and it is the only makeup that hasn't made me break out. It is really expensive but i think it is worth it. I have tried all the copy cats from walmart and none seem to work as well.

P.S. They don't test on animals, like the other lines do.

I actually use the brushes from Bare Minerals because I spent so much money buying their kit, but then couldn't wear the make up! Their brushes are very nice though, although have not held up well after a few months of use (the handle comes away from the foundation brush). I know you can buy good brushes from Sephora but probably not cheap. I have bought a couple of brushes from Everyday Minerals recently (their old brushes were not so good, but they have a great range now) and have been really pleased - try the 'premium' range. I'm not sure, but I think you're supposed to use brushes designed for mineral make-up, and obviously the ones from Everyday Minerals are.

I would recommend a concealer brush and a foundation brush to start with, or if you prefer heavier coverage, some sort of kabuki brush to apply the foundation, then a foundation/powder brush if you use one of the finishing powders. These should only be used for the concealer/foundation/finishing powder IMO - use a separate brush for blush.

Good luck - I hope it works for you - Everyday Minerals are my lifesaver - wouldn't dream of going out without them! I'm already worrying about the trip to the dermatologist next month as I will have to go make-up-less - gulp! Oh and by the way, people never guess I'm wearing make-up, its that natural looking, the redness just vanishes behind the multi-tasking concealer.

I must say that I have been using bare esscentauls and I've had no problems but sheercover's did a nuraber on my skin anyway .I must agree with the other meraber she was right do not use mineral's with bismuth in it ...Jamillah from Parlin, N.J.

I highly recommend 'Everyday Minerals' - search for it on the internet. Its a lot cheaper than Bare Minerals, and much better in my experience.

Its the only make up I've tried that doesn't make me break out - it is truly the reason I can go out and face other people.

Their multi-tasking concealer is fantastic. Don't be put off by the amount of different colors in the foundation range - they will send you free samples so you can find the right match for your skin tone. I personally love the 'intensive' formula - I can wear it even when sweating here in the Caribbean and it doesn't make me break out. Its a really great, customer-oriented company.

I can't wear Bare Minerals as it irritates my skin, making it terribly itchy as soon as my face starts to sweat (the Bismuth Oxychloride in it I believe).

Top tip - buy really good brushes and wash them often - at least every two weeks.

I actually believe that one of the reasons i began breaking out was due to wearing mineral makeup. I thought it would be great for someone with acne prone skin, but it really did a nuraber on me and i had to stop wearing it. It's back to the liquid stuff for me, oh but i do use Almay's liquid foundation that helps clear up blemishes while covering.

What Kind Of Mineral's Were You Using ...see I Have Acne Too And My Skin Seem's Ok ...but I Started Using Pro Activ And Now I'm So Upset When I Was Just Using My Mineral's My Skin Was So Soft But Now It's So Dry And I Know It From The Pro Activ And Not The Mineral's But See There Are So Many Different Kind's Now You Must Chose That Right Mineral Makeup I Use Bare Escentual And It Great Even Efore I Was Using Pro Activ...i Think It All Depend On The Person See You Must Give You Skin Time To Adjust To The Product And Then Deside If It's Good Or Not ..i Almost Stop Using Bare Escentual But Now I'm Fine An Lookin Good..you Can Too Just Try It And Let It Work First Ok .....

I have to agree with the post above. Make sure the mineral makeup you're buying doesn't include the Bismuth Oxychloride ingredient. It's supposed to irritate the skin and aggrivate acne. The mineral makeup I get is from Gourmet Rose, they are not popular or anything but they make all their makeup from scratch and have only 100% pure natural ingredients. I get it on an auction site.

I Just Like To Say Welcome My Be Sister See You Did The Right Thing And You Gave Your Skin Time To Adjust To The Product Alot Of Women Don't So This See They Think It's Not Working But It's Working ...i Just Wish Everyone Could Feel Like You Do About Bare Mineral's It's A Great Product And Just Remeraber Your Not Alone Ok...i Love Be Too I Will Use Nothing Else...jamillah
