Saw this today cos there was something wrong with the Closer film reel and was really pleasantly surprised.

Clint's still got it as both actor and director and I thought he and Morgan Freeman were an excellent partnership (as were Clint and Hilary)

According to IMDB, Hilary Swank refused a double for alot of the scenes.

Anyone else seen it?

Ive seen a few of the Ms Swank films, I hope this is her big break.
Apart from the Core, most of the others have been so so (Karate Kid 3 ?).

I saw it on Friday evening and thought it was fantastic. Clint was excellent in it as were Morgan Freeman and Hillary Swank. What I really liked about this (as with Mystic River) is that it strips bare the human soul the hopes and dreams and what can happen when you get these. It was very sad but a good sad if that makes any sense. I would have hated if it had a sugary Disney type ending.

I think she's already had that, considering she won a Best Actress Oscar for 'Boys Don't Cry'.

Excellent film and worthy Golden Globe winners in Hilary Swank and Clint Eastwood.

A shame it didn't get nominated for any BAFTAs...

Saw this film last night and was totally floored by it (no pun intended!). You got a real sense of how exciting and dangerous boxing can be... and a s for the last pert of the film - well I was stunned. Swank deserves another Oscar - no question. BTW, if anyone hasn't seen Boy's Don't Cry I'd urge you to get it. It is almost unbearably moving.

Yes, a wonderful film very gritty spares no punches on the reality front. It was a total marvel to watch Eastwood and Freeman work together also.
