I got in a fight in high school. I have a misdemeanor battery as a juvenile, in juvenile court. The ORIGINAL charge was a felony, but before I went to court it was dropped to a misdemeanor. The arresting officer explained to me that he was only arresting me with the felony out of precaution, and as long as the kids face healed the charge drops to a misdemeanor. That is exactly what happened. I ended up with a misdemeanor charge before going to court

Im 23 now, I showed up to the recruiter with my arrest reports and dispositions, and he immediately told me the military considers it a felony since the original arrest was a felony. And of course I cant get a felony waiver

Does that sound accurate? or is it possible the recruiter was misunderstanding my disposition in the 30 seconds he took to gloss over it?
