My husband is in the Army and currently station in South Korea (humphreys). I'm trying to find out what vaccines(if any)that I need. When he was getting his, he had to get anthrax, small pox, and several others. He was told that I probably wouldn't need to get the anthrax and small pox shots. Also, we have a 3 year old...would he need to get the same vaccines? I can't see them giving a baby the small pox vaccine. It was horrendous when my husband got it. Thanks for all your help! =)

As far as I know (constantly changes), no vaccinations are specifically required for military family members traveling to Korea. At the moment (continually under review), both the anthrax and smallpox vaccinations (neither recommended for children at this time) are voluntary for adult military family members in Korea. For active duty military personnel, both the anthrax (voluntary until recently due to vaccine shortages) and smallpox vaccinations are required.
