alright so heres my deal, im in the usmc reserves and going to be stationed at home (anchorage, ak) and im going to be attending the University of Anchorage Alaska. now my question is does anyone know what would happen if say im in the middle of a semester and i get deployed overseas? im not blocked for deployment because im not in any NJROTC programs or anything like that. i wanna know can i get my tuition back, etc.? is this situation handle differently by different universities? if so what is the most common outcome? thanks a lot

You will lose about a year of college year, and will start from where you left off. In the Army, you there is a program where you are under no deployment conditions for 4 years (college) if your full time student. I am not so sure about the USMC, you should ask your Marine recruiter if you want exact details.

It depends on the school and how far along you are. The most likely outcome is you'll get your tuition back and have to do the semester over again once you're back. If you're far enough along the school may just take your current grades and count them as your final grade, in which case you wouldn't get tuition back because the semester is technically over for you. Been there done that, missing school isn't a big deal.
