i know they navy goes over seas on a ship, but do they actually go on the ground and fight like the army and marines? my boyfriend is thinking about joining and i didnt know if they went and fought like the other branches

No they do not fight on the ground as an entire branch. That is not their mission.

Certain jobs in the Navy will have them on the ground such as medical Corpsman, or Seals, and Seabees.

Yes they can depending on the Rating (job) they choose. If they are SeaBees who do construction in the middle of it all or in disaster areas or a Corpsman who is with a Marine unit or a SEAL who is with that command. Plus in the Navy today there is a thing called IA - Individual Augmentee where individuals are sent to Marine and Army units in places like Iraq, Afghanistan, etc... and work with them. It could be an RP helping a Chaplain, it could be a LS doing supply or postal work, it could be a OS doing something else. Anyone in the Navy, male or female, Enlisted or Officer can go IA for up to 12 months. Things can also happen while at sea, they can be in situations where there is fighting in the middle of it all, especially in certain areas with pirates.

Depends on your rating. If you are a navy seal then yes. But in general there are no combat oriented jobs in the navy. Usually corpsmen (medic) will be assigned to marine units to provide medical assistance if needed and seabees (construction workers) will go to the ground to build new structures and repair damaged buildings. But it is mostly just special operations that will do combat work like the seals.

Look little girl don't worry about things like that. For right now you need to worry about learning how to write. Then maybe you might come off as half way intelligent.
