I am going to be graduating Central Michigan University with a major in Psychology. I was looking into the student loan forgiveness for the army and air force. It said they will pay up to 65,000$ which is 33.5% per year. I have about 75,000$ in student loans. I thought this would be a good way for me to gain experience, become a better person and handle my student loan debt all at once. I have taken practice ASVAB test and score around 85-90's on them. What kind of things (jobs) should I try and be in the military. I have never thought about the military before now and would like to be a little educated before I go and talk to a recruiter. Would I start out as an O1 since I have a 4 year degree? how high can I enter? Is O1 the highest level to start at? How fast/far could I go in rank in a 3-4 year contract? I would like to do something in the military that isn't infantry/dangerous, something that would give me experience and knowledge to get a good job after the military. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.
