Military contractor questions?

Is there a difference in an invited contractor and DOD contractor?
Do they mean the same thing?
Does the CAC cards look different from one another?
I know there are contractors who have a contract with the government and the government pays them and I know some contractors have a contract with a company and the company pays them.

They change the CAC card every so often to keep it from being copied. Contractors hire sub-contractors to do the work, the Gov pays the Contractor Company then the Company is to pay the Sub-Contractor.
