Military Channel is Up (channel 631)

I'm an agent and can not even confirm it...

Nothing was posted in our Info Zone about it...went to look at the transponder map and it doesn't show there
 
My guide does show this channel, but it's on red right now. I'm not sure when will the free preview come though. At 9PM EDT tonight, it's gonna show "20th Century Battlefields." Bell, keep it up and don't lag behind! :rolleyes:
 
Is it possible there is no free preview for this channel? Maybe anyone without the Variety 3 pack is seeing it red in the guide.

Good news for Legacy clients, you can get that channel too...but I forgot under which theme pack it is. I will post it once i'm back from work
 
bunch of horse $hit. i just upgraded to the new package. I had ultimate 12 but now had to choose 11 themes to keep same price. Could they have put in a more stupid theme? Jeez. IMO it belongs in same theme as NG or Disc Civ.
 
It's part of the theme Mostly music for clients on Legacy packages...

This is a U.S. channel so must meet carriage rules in conjunction with Canadian programming.
 
Is Military channel on the 82 bird? If it is that would explain why it is only showing up on my dual LNBF dishes (My HD receivers) and not my 91 only (which is connected to my 2 3100's).

Funny - I called EV to figure out why it does not show up on my guide (in any colour - 3100's) and the tech made me reboot, turn off, pull card and do some line dancing to fix this issue - which it did not. Maybe he should have asked me if I was getting signal on 91 and 82?

Maybe I better get some extra splitters etc and just run everything off my dual dishes - or convert my single to a dual dish - I have house/TV/Room access problems and needed more than 1 dish.....don't ask :eek:

Update - Just found it on LyngSat - It is indeed on 82. Still find it funny (not really) that the tech did not know this.
 
Any idea if variety pack 3 will come over to the 91 bird after the sports pack 3 did?? I have a 4100 but no dual lnb (yet), but when I go to order channels on demand I can select the military channel but nothing else from that pack. Maybe they're planning on moving those channels over to make room for more HD programming.
 
I believe everyone should insist on subscribing to Military Channel as a stand alone option. The cost is $2.50/mth and Bell will re-wire your house, replace your dish and upgrade you to twin satellite reception. There is an upfront fee of about $100 but that is refunded on your ExpressVu account.

Even if you have no intention of ever watching HD, it's a cheap upgrade which may disappear soon.

Of course, in 2010 when the Nimiq 5 satellite laucnhes and moves to 72
 
I totally agree with you "poet".. I intend on subscribing as soon as I can... I just got back my rec room reciever today after 6 months due to a flood.. but as soon as my house gets back to normal I will be getting the upgrade, maybe even before.. it would be a total shame to miss out on a such a cheap upgrade.
