Military back ground check, how would one be informed if they did not pass it ?

I believe MEPS attempted to contact me on June 9th this year although there was no voice mail left and when I attempted to return the call I was not able to get through to the military base in San Diego where the call was from. I leave to basic in two weeks so my question is...

How would one find out if there application to enlist in the Army has been approved or denied? I suppose if it were approved and there were no problems with the back ground check there wouldn't be a notification.

Although how would an applicant find out if there back ground check came back negative and they failed? Would it be the recruiter who informs you? Would MEPS contact you ? Would there be a letter sent out to you ? I enlisted 4 months and 2 weeks ago. Would I have found out by now ? Who would be the person who contacts a denied applicant ?

Thank you for your comments.

Also to include financial debt of $10,000.00.

Although MEPS did approve me and I did swear in and was signed off for a security clearance that day. Just worried about the back ground check a bit. Although I did disclose everything. I was arrested once disclosed that, every traffic ticket was disclosed and paid off including parking tickets. Medically everything was disclosed.

The recruiter did do all of his own personal background checks with the court systems everywhere I had lived. And everything came back paid off and there were no surprises. My recruiter also says that he has not been contacted by anyone saying I've been denied. Although I'm still a bit nervous because a military base in San Diego ( where I swore in at ) did attempt to contact me and my recruiter says typically the only reason they do that is if you failed the background check.

Thanks again.
