Hi, I am planning on joining the us army soon, and I have heard that the military gives good benefits for travel, air time etc... is a huge difference between a civilian vs military ?

ex... 75% all flights - IDK i just made that up.

When you are on leave you can take Military flights on what is called Space Available. As AD you do have a higher priority you can only be bumped by those who signed up before you or are in a higher category. There is more places these planes go than Hawaii, there is also Bahrain, Singapore, Guam, Japan, Australia, throughout the US, Spain, Germany, UK, Italy, Azores, etc... The type of aircraft flown varies from commercial with decent seats to cargo planes where you sit on netting. They can be a few hours or long hours in flights. Sometimes you get delayed and never leave, other times you get on right away without a problem. You take a change and the most you pay is $28 for a one way ticket to Japan or Germany.

no no no...this is not true....you can get free flights but its like being on standby flights at a miltary base, and its only to like hawaii

just like the guy down their said, you do get pretty decent traveling. i am in the army, i dont know from personal experience but many family and friends have done so, only reason i havent is because im currently in training. now, like he said, the flights may get delayed and blah blah blah, but the biggest thing, to me i guess, is make sure their is a flight coming back in time for you to be back. some flights land and leave. yes theres pretty much always flights coming and going constantly, but as a precaution, be careful. dont wanna get awol for that dumb crap haha
good luck with the army, its great.

uhhh NO.

the military offers AMC flights on a Space Available basis where it can cost only a few dollars( say $25 or so) but you fly where THEY fly and everybody on orders gets priority.
