Question, Im a soldier in the Army National Guard, and I was on ADOS orders earlier this year. I got injured why on those orders and I told my supervisor and everything, and asked to put in a LOD for the incident. At the time I was also in the process of trying to get a conditional release done to go Active Duty. They told me that if i put in my lod then my conditional release would be rejected. this was back in august. It is now decemeber and my medical insurance has halted and my shoulder still hurts, my conditional release has been approved just waiting on the active side to tell me when im leaving. I want to know is it ok for me to put in my LOD now, through the national guard so I may recieve treatment for my shoulder before going active? or will it revoke my conditional release?
Please keep in mind, my unit really sucks pretty much all the upper enlisted, and officers hate me because I have called the IG on the unit for some problems Ive had. My unit deploys in 2010, and I don't feel safe so I cannot and will not deploy with them. The best thing for me is to get out of the unit ASAP but I want to make sure im doing the right thing. I went to the ER yesterday and now I have another chance to put in the LOD so im at the point where im not sure what to do as they told me again yesterday if I do it will revoke my conditional release. On top of that pretty much everyone in my unity thinks im totally faking my problem because Ive beeen to the doctor so many times and they always come back with its either something in the nerves or muscles and im unable to help you, and pretty much made fun of me for going to the doc to get the medical care I need. Guess you could call me an outsider here in the unit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
