Just a little background info:I currently am 23 years old, have a decent job in the IT field making about 40k a year. I have about 3/4 of my Associates degree completed but dropped out of college a couple years ago because of other things going on in my life. My fiance recently left me and honestly my IT job is at a construction company and doesn't have much room to grow, the office life is getting a little mundane. I'm an army brat and was in ROTC in high school and I've always enjoyed being around the military.

OK now to the point, I'm kind of bummed about the fiance thing, sick of my normal office job and just want to get out of the area, do something new.. plus I have 15k in student loans and apparently you can have the military pay off previous student loans now. I'm just not sure what branch (Army or Air force) or what MOS I should go into, What I know I want something IT/Computer related that I can use when I get out.

to sum it up, what branch should I join or should? What MOS would be the best for what I want? I was told the air force is better for technology jobs is that true?
Haha, Stay away from blondes, enough for me my fiance was a crazy blonde.. trying to avoid those now =(.

My student loan does qualify (Parent Plus Loan) and While I would take a pay cut I wouldn't have the cost of living that i do now. Apartment etc.. because i'd probably be in the barracks. While I would be starting twords the bottom I was told I would be guranteed E3 due to my ROTC and college
I saw the comment about getting shot at.. honestly I want to see some of the exciting stuff. I'd honestly rather get shot at over staring at cubicles all day heh.

Hello I defiantly see your point here I'd go for it! As for what branch I'd recommend the Air Force my husband work in IT in the Air Force and there is so much you can learn and achieve! Finish your degree and the various certifications like CISCO, Security Plus, and I could go on and on! When you get out with your education, certifications and security clearance you'll be able to get a sweet job in the IT world making some major bucks!

EDIT:
OMG I just saw one guy say the Air Force cause you spend a lot less time getting shot at Whatever talk to my husband that did his fair share of time in Iraq dude don't make assumptions! Anyone in any branch runs the risk of getting shot at!
