Migrating Nextel to Sprint: Picking a Phone

I've been a loyal Nextel customer for 4 years now. I live in Pennsylvania. Ever since I heard it's possible to switch to Sprint without penalty AND they waive the activation fee AND I would get new customer pricing, I'm estatic!

I want to choose the right phone for ME! So don't worry I'm not asking "what's the best phone"? But I am a newbie to Sprint and their phones and haven't used any other kind of phone but iDEN since 2003 so I am out of it when it comes to the other side. So the other day I went into a Sprint store and the girl there was very nice and helpful. She brought out 3 phones for me to look at, took them out of the box and everything. Those 3 were...

1. Moto KRZR K1m (read dozens of reviews saying it's UI is terribly slow, I'm attracted to the phone but woudln't get it if the UI is slow)
2. Samsung M610 (really sold on this phone, seems to be the best of everything I'm looking for, no?)
3. Samsung M300 (nice size and form factor, attractive, seems low end?)

I've also looked at the Samsung M500, but the girl said it's not really better than the M300. So as the rules say, I will tell you what I am looking for and what I'm NOT interested in a phone. Also, I want to choose the best possible choice for me to last me at least 2 years with up to date technology. I'm looking for anyone's input to try and help me make the best choice for me.

I'm NOT interested in: MP3 player (already have an iPod), bulky size (remember I'm coming from Nextel's bulky phones so I'd like to go the opposite way), super multi-media phone (just want the capability to surf internet, check e-mail, and do texting easily).

I am interested in: Sleek size factor, lightweight, stylish, stealth design, good camera, good sound quality, reliable phone, good feature set, good enough media features to surf internet, check e-mail, do texting and maybe try Sprint's TV and other mobile media services in the future.

So considering my dislikes, I think I've ruled out the Moto RAZR, LG Fusic, Sanyo M1, and Upstage. Correct? I only say RAZR because it's near end of life and everyone and their brother has a RAZR.

Remaining phones to consider... Moto KRZR K1m (slow UI?), Sanyo Katana, Samsung M610, and Samsung M500.

PLEASE let me know if I'm missing a phone to consider. I would really appreciate any input, expert advice on phones or whatever! Remember, I've been with Nextel for 4 years so I've been shutout of the other phones for a couple years! The last phones I used when I was with AT&T prior to 2003 was the Nokia 5120 and Nokia 3330 I think, haha.

Also, I'll take any recommendations on phones too! I'm not selling myself short, if there is a better phone I am willing to go higher up in class of phone, so don't think I'm ruling out all other phones that are media rich or whatnot.

Wish i can help you but im in the same situation your in. From Nextel to sprint. But the phone im looking at is the sprint ppc 6700. G/l on your choice but in my opinion i would go with your 2nd choice.

Ahh thanks. I just switched tonight!! Went with the M610. I really think I won't regret going with this phone! It's sitting here charging, can't wait to fire it up! The porting process should be done soon, don't know for sure till I turn it on after it's done charging. I turned my Nextel off because it went from "NEXTEL" above the time/date to "READY". So I guess that means the porting process is in progress.
