Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie (handled so badly)

I can't remember the exact order of morphing in the movie, but I do remember that Tommy's call went from Tigerzord to White Tiger. Which does actually make sense when you think about it!

lol i bought the dvd of the movie recently and ashamedly quite enjoyed it again.

Ivan Ooze was a bit creepy, especially when dressed as that magician.

Tommy was ****in hot though!

What???? Those episodes had already been show.

GMTV use to show about 5 minutes every weekday, so a normal episode was show over 2-4 days.

Can't remember what SKY channel showed power rangers maybe sky 1???? That was up to date.

Remember my cousin who didn't have sky went to see the film with him and he new all the new cast

Not forgetting Green With Evil, his five-part introductory miniseries, which was the point at which I think MMPR actually started to go beyond being a fairly charming, watchable cheese-fest (to being a very watchable charming cheese-fest with some quite decent plotting and occasional moments of pure genius).

Arguably it did become the Tommy Show for a while, and I think Jason got a raw deal when Tommy became the White Ranger and usurped him as group leader. It seems the two actors didn't much care for each other at the time either!

Why isn't there a boxset? I'd buy it in a heartbeat. (So, so sad.)

I think they added some new effects as well as cleaning the eps up.
I'd kinda like to see the original Japanese version with English subs to see what it was like - was the Japanese one mostly fight scenes, not much drama?

I remember one episode called The Hate Master or something, maybe from Zeo (S4), that was pretty suspenseful.

I still have green with evil on video from years ago, I agree some of its best epsidoes were in that five episode arc, It was obvious the show's producers' had their fave, Tommy, Kimberly and Billy which was a bit of a shame for the rest but they got replaced eventually.

If you look on amazon I think you might find something;)

I don't think that Tommy/Kimberley/Billy were the producers' favourites exactly - it's just that they didn't kick up about money. Jason, Trini and Zack's actors tried to make a stand about their fee when the show started to take off, but it was apparently decided that the show was bigger than them, so their brave stand ended up with them being "sent to a peace conference" - FOREVER!

I don't think their replacements were ever as good...sigh.

It looks like there was a DVD boxset of Mighty Morphin seasons 1/2/3, but it's not available any more, and it's over

As I understand it, the Japanese versions (Super Sentai, Dairranger, Carranger and so on) were totally different by way of plots and characters. It's fascinating reading about how they managed to cobble together the American shows! The first series of MMPR was meant to be 40 episodes long, but it was so successful they extended it to 60 - problem was, they'd run out of Super Sentai footage, so they had to commission some totally original stuff. Lord Zedd was created solely for the American series too.

At various points, they didn't have the right Megazord costumes for whatever configuration they needed, so they were really struggling to make episodes gel. Oh, and at one stage, they actually used footage of some of the tie-in toys for an Ultrazord combination (I think it was Titanos and the Shogunmegazord, which were from two different series in Japan and thus would never have been filmed together originally).
