Midsomer Murders

I thought it was her. The way she kept looking at that photo on the piano and then when Barnaby focused on it later in the programme convinced me it was her.

I kept questioning myself though because I didn't think a woman would be able to wield a sword that heavy but I guess 'poetic licence' wins the day!

The lady playing Mrs Stroud (Paola Dionisotti) reminded me of Lorraine Ashbourne in looks and voice

Paola Dionisotti was in 'Forever Green'

Good point - I'd forgotten that bit at the beginning where she lifted the stone off the crypt by stringing a rope over the beam and pulling was very far fetched. I doubt very much whether even a strong man could have done that all on his own, let alone a woman!

I do think Neil Dudgeon as the new 'John Barnaby' will prove an ideal successor though.

Silly, but fun.

But the overall word to sum it up must surely be "wheezy" - why does John Nettles talk with that rasping "wind blowing through the forest" kind of sound?

Who played the blonde haired lady
I am sure she was in Holby city as the CEO before Leslie Ash joined but that was Stella Gonet
where have I seen her before

My sky+ recording got cancelled at 81mins so I don't know the ending. Can someone please spoil it for me? I got up to the point where the vicar was murdered in the graveyard.

Thanks.

I don't think it was the worst ever, but I agree that it was all a bit tenuous. I could just about swallow the motive for the first murder, but the second, when he didn't even know whether he'd been spotted or not in the graveyard? And then to murder the guy when he knew there would be witnesses nearby on the ghost walk! How did he even know that the victim would walk up the staircase on his own?

Ahh, I'm glad it wasn't just me that noticed that. Hubby wasn't sure it was, but I can gloat now. lol

Great episode tonight, loved the line about the beheading on the ghost train, "Best put it down to a shaving accident then" (or something like that).

I hope they keep Jason Hughes on as Ben Jones when Neil Dudgeon takes over.

The hotelier was in debt to the nasty man and agreed to a plan where she would be paid to be the host for sperm taken from the disabled guy and therefore there would be an heir to the older woman's considerable estate. The carer overheard the plan and decided to get rid of the dodgy guy and the hotelier and then presumably the mother if she hadn't been stopped.

The corrupt mayor of Causton presumably went to prison whilst the corrupt mayor Brighton didn't.
