Midsomer Murders

I enjoyed this episode too, there was some great writing and acting all round. I was a bit disappointed that Jones wasn't going to get promotion to Inspector when John Nettles retired, I think of the 3 sidekicks he is the most competent! (In fact I thought they were grooming him for the role). I guess as it's called Inspecteur Barnaby in France they needed a Barnaby.

So much for New Series, one two weeks ago and another yesterday then none scheduled!
 
Yeah, I cant wait. I know its sad, but i love MiRABummer Murders (although i was dissapointed with the last one).

Its just easy evening TV, and i do enjoy a good detective story.
 
I didn't know that - I assumed MM would finish when JN left - I'm so pleased it's not going to!

I LOVE MM - it's fabulous hokum with completely ludicrous plots, hammy acting and nonsensical police procedures - but it's pure escapism and I love the locations

Anyone know if the hospital is a real building, and where it is?
 
Well, I hate being out of step with everyone else, but I thought this was one of the most silly, unbelievable MM stories in ages. It was really obvious it was going to be the carer, but come on all of it, the past, the sword, the beheadings, the idea that because she goes to the gym she could move the stone lid off that grave on her own, that nobody would notice her around the ghost train in a cloak... I thought it was a rubbish bit of writing.

Like the new Barnaby a lot though - I think he'll work well with Jones.

Same, the plots were more simple as well when Troy was in it, so we could actually keep up almost. It's such a shame Barnaby won't be in it much longer, he'll be missed. I do hope it will still be quite good though.
 
I enjoyed last night's episode. Great fun - particularly with the iron maiden.

Anyone else watching it tonight? Total gorefest. The headless corpses (and the heaRAB!) are pretty ghoulish :eek:

I don't think MM has ever been known for its subtlety or plausability, which is what makes it so fun to watch. The guest cast looked as if they were having a whale of a time last night!
 
I don't watch much television these days but last night was confined to home with a bottle of decent red and a twisted ankle. 'No matter,' I thought. I shall enjoy this new programme. Few people die of a twisted ankle but many more expire through boredom. As my three year old grand-daughter would say 'rubbish story', more dreary advertisements than is humanly possible to bear and did they have five minute ad breaks every five minutes? Poor Mr Boffin is 85, he doesn't have time to waste like this....
