**Mideast truce pact**

most of the people who are getting called up are those where where there when Israel left Lebanon in 2000... since they are somewhat familiar with the area

they would have been getting the best parts of the land... the areas which are best suited for agriculture... Israel would have been mostly inhospitable desert

Maybe we'd leave them alone if they, oh I don't know, stopped trying to erradicate on of our closest allies.

Palestine should be thankful that Israel gives them any land considering they've never fucking existed and the last time something with even close to the name Palestine existed was in the 1500s.

then use your head. look at the link. the arabs had their own state. they said "fuck that. lets murder all these people and take their land too." tell me what rational basis exists for the palestinians to kill israelis.

That's the lesson the US should learn from, then. Don't spread democracies into regions where you will not like the result of those exact same elections that you support.

Okay, if we're gonna discuss people whose only goal is to kill others, what are we doing about Darfur? Where were we in Rwanda? Soviet Russia? Nazi Germany? Armenia?

Someone's always going to want to kill someone else. Either we help everyone or help no one

Show me where Palestinians had any chance to get a WORTHWHILE and ACCEPTABLE plan to get their own country???

And pay close attention to the words WORTHWHILE and ACCEPTABLE deal, because the 1947 Partition Plan was a joke, which is why the Arabs never accepted it.

In that plan, everyone got what they wanted, EXCEPT the Palestinians. They got shafted, so to speak. Not only were they to receive the lesser amount of land in that plan, but also land that was worth shit. It was land that farms couldn't possibly be built on.

The plan gave Israel the sole access to the Red Sea(strategically and economically important), as well as most of the Mediterranean shore line, and sole access to the Sea of Galilee.

So, in 1947, when the Arabs looked at all of this this, and pondered and wondered, they came to one conclusion:

"Damn, this plan sucks."

I see clearly why that plan sucked back then, and sucks even more so today.

You mean when we decide to end all support for Isreal, pull troops out of the Middle East, and cease to interfere in Islamic affairs?
