Negative. Palestine may not have had that name, but it existed under the Palestinian Mandate in the mid 20th century, before the UN carved out the land and gave it to Israel. It's as much their land as anyone else's. The only reason Israel has it is because the Torah said that the Canaan region is their holy land. Jerusalem is sacred to 3 religions. Can you blame the Palestinians for being angry?
