Middle American Ancient Civilization question!!!?

Okay, this may seem weird, but when i was in history class last year, we talked briefly about a small village that I thought was pretty incredible, but I can't remember the name of it (much less which civilization) =( It was this little village/city/base thing on top of a really steep hill. I know it's ruins now, but I'm not sure where it is. There was something about "the only way to the hilltop was by a small bridge, which could be retracted easilly if need be".
I know this doesn't give much information, but please help!!!
I want to do my AP world history project on this but can't seem to find it xD.
