call recording capabilities. Thats my main need right now. I'm looking to spend up to 400 dollars, and I'll probably snag it off ebay. I did a few searches but never turned up much, hopefully someone here can help me out.

I work in a trade in which I am dispatched every other day or so to a new location, however, due to the work load being put on our shop the dispatcher is a little quick to give directions and I often miss things and have to call back. Annoying for him, and me. Coincidentally I'm looking to switch to a GSM carrier (rogers) from my old carrier, and need a phone to go along. SOoo I figured I may aswell get something that suits my needs.

Top priorities:
Voice/call recording
Good battery life and reliability
850 MHz Band capability (quad band i guess?)
Good reviews on reception, clarity and reliability
Sleek/compact looks.

Optional things would be things like... intuitive text messaging abilities, Mp3 player, speaker phone, PC connectivity, custom ringtones.. all those other basice features most phones have these days. I have a slight prefferance for flip phones because the screens tend not to get damaged as easily, but it is not a priority for me at this time.

Thanks!

actually I was looking at that one. The reviews seemed ok, but user feedback had a few complaints with White screen of Death problems. I'm keeping it in mind for sure, but If anyone has any other suggestions I'd like to hear em!

been reading good reviews on the SE w800I, and its in my price range. Also it has a voice recorder, but im not sure if that means its capable of recording a call. anyone know? or have much experience with this phone?

Thanks for that though!

hmm.. righto.
I guess waiting for the W810i, a couple of weeks, and using that time to save the difference in cost is going to be worth it. My friend has a SE phone, and i like it quite a bit. an added benefiet is I can use my camera's Memory stick with the phone aswell. plus the 800i has had very good reviews... much better than the W600.

But once again to clarify, because I can't find it anywhere. Voice recording, is the same thing as call recording correct? in other words, I can use it to record incoming calls?

heh.. just read this thread: http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=800581&page=1&pp=15

...yea the w600i is out of the picture for sure now. WAY to many people with problems, and those are just the ones on this board..
