I have been on birth control, Loestrin 24, consistently for the past nine months. (I was on it before but took a break so overall use has been a little more than a year). Everything has been completely normal... no spotting during these 9 months. This month I am experiencing a kind of baby period with light bleeding and heavy cramping in the middle of my cycle (approx 12 days from my last period). From what I've read I thought maybe I ovulated this month... but shouldn't I not ovulate on Loestrin 24? The pain seems more intense than ovulating cramps too and seems that it has also lasted longer. I've had the pain since Friday so it would be 4 days today. One thing I should mention is that Friday I was about 5 hrs late taking my pill. What I don't seem to understand is that I've missed pills in the past here and there and I have never felt anything like this. Did I miss during a more crucial time of the month and that is why I am having this mid-cycle bleeding? Should I be concerned?
