Microsoft: Sony "talentless" - PS3 online a "disaster"

Translated: I wasn't really going to write this. Thank you for doing so because I lack the intelligence to write something so clear and concrete.

Can you download games/movies while playing a game? Yes

wrong - couldnt do that for months

the whole friends list shit I have no clue about, never used it anyways

Both platforms are conceptually heading in the right direction. I feel the the next generation is where either product will sink or swim. As far as the lack on content on either platform, studios need to step up the game also. I think several are still hesitant on releasing downloadable content.

in the ps3 the same names are used when gaming (My Resistance name is teh same and chat is also supported by all games with any generic Bluetooth or usb headset

oh, and ps3 got an internet browser

PS3 online gaming supports unified gamer tags? News to me.

Did they include a headset with the PS3?

Yeah and? Browsing with a PS3 controller must be a real treat.

Live on the 360 is leaps and bounds ahead of PS3 Online.

The main issue with the PS3's online service, is it's not a unified structure. Each game is handled seperately by it's respective developer/publisher. The same way it was on the PS2. While the PS3's online is better than what the PS2 offered, Sony still has a HUGE hill to climb if they hope to ever reach the level of Xbox Live.

The biggest issue with the PS3's online service is there isn't any type of real unified system. No PS3 Online functionalities are intergrated into the games....meaning, they each use their own system. You have to log all the way out of a game, to the main menu to see if your friends are on. If you send them an invite, you have to hope they're playing the same game....or else they won't get it. But there's no way for you to know what they're doing....just that they're online. But even if you get an invite...you can't just accept it. You have to actually go search for the game and join...it's more like a note that your friends are playing this certain game. This among other things is a big hurdle they have to overcome.

On the 360, the online, and community features are done very well. All the friends lists are intergrated into one full system on every game, across the board. You can see who is online, and what they're doing at anytime. You can send invites to anyone at anytime, and it will jump them right to your lobby. If they are playing a different game, they'll still get an invite that will allow them to switch the game, and then jump right in with you. New friends you make in games will be transferred to your friends list, there's a ratings system that carries over, there's match making based on your category/skills/zone, Gamerscores, in-game video/voice/text messaging, etc., etc. Xbox Live offers sooooo much more just on the multiplayer game level. Not to mention the other areas of Live.

surely i played w/ none on. gt4 was a steaming pile of uninspired rehashed shit. i have played the series since day one. gt3 ranks as one of my all time favorite games, but 4 was garbage. the phyics were crap, the AI was horrid, the sounds in the game were laughable. hey, ill throw a race exhaust on my z06 and magically it will sound like a 4cyl honda engine w/ 100k miles on it. polyphony dropped the ball on it. plain and simple

Have you ever used the PS3 online service? I used Live alot before I got my PS3 and its got exactly the same stuff Live offers yet its free. You sound like another Microsoft mind swept zombie. You have no choice but to pay them to get online with it, so many are "forced" to pay while I can play my games lagfree online, browse the internet, e-mail, download movies an games, and much more. So how is it better? Please go in to detail fanboy

"They're struggling with some of their hardware issues, "

Like microsoft has any room to talk

anyways the ps3's been out what 2 months? as long as sony dosnt drop the ball the online service will get better

and again, please explain how this is something special?

project gotham 2 and 3 have had that shit since back in the xbox days. hell, i think forza even had that. fuck, rallisport challenge 2 (the best console racer to date, in my opinion) had that exact thing, minus 1080p of course
