"Michiko to Hatchin" - Talkback (Spoilers)

"Michiko to Hatchin" - Talkback (Spoilers)

Shoot, just caught the trailer. This has mega-hit written all over it if manglobe can keep the pace tight and the action big.

Figures - it's been ten years since Bebop, so we're due for another classic.

EDIT:

First episode watched. Dark, dark opening, but darn good too. Definitely a lot of potential in that show. Great music.

d-d-d-d-doublepost!

Watched episode 2. Even more off the chain than episode 1. Brilliant music direction with some moments of french loungetronica a la Air coming into the mix now too. BoarRAB were great, the pace is great and the Lupin-levels of automotive destruction is fantastic.

anyone know what country this anime is set in, its obviously somewhere in Latin America, but from can anyone tell specifically based of the mentioned city's?

WELL I FINALLY saw episode 1.(Darn avi)

Was it just me or was the whole Hana thing very unpleasant to watch?
It got a little extreme when Maria pulled out the Iron.
But OH was it satisfying to have Hana give it to her.

I was a little confused on Hana showing back up in the house again but as a Kid where else are you gonna go?

Michiko? The 10 Year reincarnation of Faye.
Just even more badass.
Though hopefully once I watch episode2 it'll explain more on why she picked up Hana.

i just saw episode 3, still cant tell where this shows going.

was that guy really not Hiroshi?, or was Michiko just pretending he wasnt cause she saw he had a family or something?, The guy looked just like the picture!!

"i know what you look like!, il send you to hell with my Kung Fu!", funny guy that restaurant owner.

As Karl said.
"Off-the-Chain"
It doesn't do it justice; this to me is stylistically and just as plotlined as Champloo and just about as much style as Afro Samurai, with a equal amount of substance.

I wonder how Atsuko has changed physically since her and Michiko were kiRAB.
And I was hoping the fall would've killed Father Larenzo (Or whatever his name is) He's just.. YEAH..

The show in terms of it's location and it's characters make's it really diverse.
Plus this whole thing with Characters' having Japanese/Spanish is really cool.

Anyone else think Hatchin's voice is kinda deep for 9 year old's?
On Episode 3, Hiroshi in the sketch, had Spike qualities, regardless, Hiroshi or the guy in the shack was no doubt
Hatchin's father

Oh and Michiko's "Pssss" sound whenever she's annoyed or aggravated are great. REALISM YO'! Si?

Episode 3 certainly opened up some mysteries, and it'll be interesting to see how things go from here. This show is like curveballs upon curveballs, and it keeps damned entertaining.

Oh, and I loved Michiko just slapping that stupid kid with the Pea-Shooter down. That was a great piece of animation that looked like it hurt. I'm also digging the very Miyazaki heroine-esque personality of Hatchin. It's really refreshing to see that in an anime series.

Well I know in Brazil the national language is Portuguese, but in terms of actual names Portuguese and Spanish are very similar.

Oh and Japanese and Brazilian? Check this out. (Slightly O.T.)

EDIT:Okay, this makes sense of it to me.

saw episode 4

well, seeing as how Michiko still seems to be looking for Hiroshi, I'm going to assume the look alike from last episode really wasn't him. And, apparently we know Hiroshi isnt fat.

lol at Hatchin getting drunk at that bar.

yeah, well, those of you like me who thought episode 5 would continue from where episode 4 left off, yeah, it dint, meaning that lasts episodes plotline ended on a real downer, well, on to new things.

We finally get to see what Hiroshi is/was like, not as badass as i envisioned him, but still somehow cool in a lame/looser sort of way (lol nose bleed, was the second nose bleed on the other nostril from the injury or from seeing Michiko topless?).

And now the search shifts to this Satoshi guy, some underground crook with lots of enemy's, should be fun.

By the way, do they really have Bull fighting and that Matador stuff in Brazil?, i thought that only went down in Spain, and that they dint..... you know..... try to stab the Bulls to death......

well, just saw episode 8 & 9, (7 was boring),

I knew it was only a mattler of time before Hatchin ran away, she really hates Michiko's criminal lifestyle, well, she always did but this time it was just too much. That Shinsuke guy was one crasy nut job though, and as much of a scum bag that Davi guy was for abandoning his frienRAB and all, i did feel sorry for him, was just way over his head, dint deserve to get killed like that, now we know Shinsuke's a liar at least for not keeping his promise. Is this Satoshi guy to be in league with the cop chick who's trying to catch Michiko? hes feeding her info, maybe shes corrupt or something, you know, associating villains and such.

Hatchin's episode was an interesting story, but not much happened besides her going of with those circus people.

A little behind but I just saw episode 10, and frankly I got to side with Atsuko's partner. I guess catch Michiko, but Satoshi is about a million times more important and Atsuko is obsessive about the whole thing which is dangerous.

Also I just can't get used to Japanese first names and Portuguese/Spanish surnames drives me right up the wall. At least Hatchin has a matching name. Ah well, I actually kind of hope they change this in any future dub but I'm still lovin' this show. I would have pefered Ergo Proxy 2, but hey a show full of non-pale anime characters? I'll celebrate that.

Plus it's funny.

I binged through episodes while flying out of Minnesota, and wow, it's certainly been an interesting show to watch so far, and it does an amazing job of having continuity and chronology while maintaining the episodic flavor and punch that makes a show like this work. The characterization is such amazing, and the animation is fantastic.

A few weeks ago, I read about it in Anime Insider under the television section where they quickly talk about three shows now on Japanese tv. I have to say I am not disappointed by this. I've only seen the first 8 episodes, but they are some of the best episodes I have seen in a while. It reminRAB me of Samurai Champloo and Witcrabroadlade. The Samurai Champloo bits are from the overall quest the title characters are going on and the style of animation. The Withcblade parts are from the relationship between Michiko and Hatchin and how they remind me of Witcrabroadlade's Masane and Rihoko. Granted, Masane and Rihoko are more of a family unit than Michiko and Hatchin are (and that's a good thing), but both shows worked and functioned because of the relationship between the two female leaRAB.

Also, I love the opening.

wow, i just caught up to episode 20, things are really heating up right now, Satoshi is one badass dude man, i thought he was a dead man for sure, nope, he took down all of Shinsuke's men and the end was awesome. Of course he wouldn't last 10 minutes, nobody can do that!

I cant believe Michiko got past that blockade, badass!

I cant wait too se Hiroshi (its comming alright), hope hes not too much of an ass.

21, well, just say it, Michiko and Hatchin finally reunite, sucks Satoshi died, sure, i know he had to die, but i at least wanted him to meet Hiroshi again though, and you know, die a cooler way instead of like a dog killed by some clown. And we finaly get to see Hiroshi outside a flasrabroadack. And the cops get in the girls way.

22, and they escaped from the cops, with some help from blonde afro woman. They meet Hiroshi, and go their seperate ways!!!??, what the hell? Michigo turns herself in!??, and Hiroshi just apparently ditched Hatchin for a new fling!?? (according to her anyway, though, it doesnt say when it happens)?

yeah, Hiroshi turns out to be an extremely selfish and laid back dude withought a care or responsibility in the world whose of course, a lowsy father.

well, i liked the ending where Hatchin goes off on her own Journey to find Michiko after her letter, and they reunite for a happy ending, it was cool.

It was a good series, ending was weird, but very fitting, i love this show.
