While we are in a recession I think the President and his family should keep a low profile when it comes to vacations and other extras that come with being a President. Do I think he should avoid them all together? Of course not. But he shouldn't give off the vibe that everything is just great around here.

I really haven't been following his trips, so I don't think it is a huge deal. But if the bean counters discover either of the Obamas being outright stupid about spending for vacations, then it should be looked in to regardless of what has happened in the past. I'd rather they put a stop to it now and let future Presidents know this isn't acceptable.
