Micheal vs Jason

Where did you read this has been given the go ahead?

Friday the 13th -remake is due in early 2009/ready to be filmed early 2008 (which will likely lead to a handfull of sequels no doubt :D)

It could actually work superbly so long as there were sufficiently strong supporting characters, such as a Donald Pleasance type to provide an atmospheric narrative.

But this is the first I've heard of this.

I understand that a Jason v. Freddy v. Ash (from The Evil Dead) IS on the carRAB but it's still at negotiating stage and sadly there isn't any imminent hope of any progress.

Just Hated this U$ rolling franchise that was just ok in the first films
I always thought , if Jase IS Supernatural an then kill him FINALLY !
Every films just a joke an we the paying viewer are it ...

Ditto Freddy as above ...Pfffts :(

Now ASH ...yeah I can run with him ... catapulted through timezones trying to get the Dead book back to present times ,
WW1,
Roman Times,
Caveman ,
WW2 , (maybe in a death camp !)
Medieval times ,
then a boss modern fight ...
build it into a story an Bruce would do it Oustanding ??

The new Friday the 13th film is not a remake, it's more of a reboot so i've heard.

And Michael Vs Jason sounRAB like a terrible idea. At least Freddy Vs Jason had the dream style element, this will be just 2 power-walking psychos going at it with knives for 2 hours...(and that's not as exciting as it might sound).

Nooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

The Halloween movies are more reality based. Ok, I know you have to suspend your disbelief with regarRAB to how Michael manages to cheat death so many times, but the films were more bedded in our reality. Michael had a purpose, he wanted to wipe out his family.

Jason is supernatural and has no presence. Jason's lack of character will only become more apparent next to the scary Michael

I think this would be quite interesting. As people have pointed out Michael is killing for a purpose - psycho but still a purpose, whereas Jason doesn't.

And neither of them speak so it should be nice and quiet apart from the occasional scream

As long as it is kept in a different continuity and not a sequel to any existing Halloween movies. I like The F13th movies too, but they have an even more messed up continuity than Halloween (if that is possible)

At the end of the day I don't see this happening-ever.If anything it is down to so many different companies owning various rights to these franchises. The only actual chance you have of seeing Michael Myers vs anyone is of him in a movie with Pinhead (Dimension has the production and distribution rights to both these),but with Hellraiser being remade this is not likely for a few years.

Were did you source this from??? It's Crap. The Michael V Pinhead was discussed by Clive Barker and John Carpenter at one point many moons ago but that was shelved along with the Michael Myers in Space crap idea. since the sucsessful Reboot of the Rob Zombies Halloween I think the above mentioned is another crap rumour. The studio would never go for that stv rubbish anyway.
