Bad news. I hoped he had talked his way out of the job. The first film was ok but number 2 was poor. Transformers has such potential.

Wooo, I am soo happy we don't have to wait until 2012! 2011 baby!

Look, the TF movie franchise has its flaws but ultimately they are what they are and in my opinion the good outweighs the bad. I am really excited. If they feel confident enough to have it out in 2 years then they must have a pretty good storyline in mind. :D I wouldn't mind seeing Unicron, Hor Rod and please please please more Soundwave!

I have to say I liked both films, did what they said on the tin, lots of action and amazing special effects, I never went into them looking for oscar winning performances and they are my 7 year old son's favourite films now, only downside is the VERY expensive toys that come with them that he also wants!!!

I love the franchise and the storylines aren't terrible. TF 2 had a few poor moments. The 'i love you' bit was lame. It wouldn't take me 2 years to say i love you to megan fox.

Any news on whether Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox are going to be it? If they are, let's hope they get killed off in a gruesome manner 5 minutes into the film.

Just have it about the Gorram Transformers! No pathetic humans!

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I doubt you had anywhere near all the original G1 toys. There were quite a large number which were never available in the UK, most of them only sold in the US, Swoop being a prime example.

And some of the figures which were sold in the UK where always near on impossible to find eg Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Hound, Wheeljack.

I watched Transformers 1 on Blu-ray last night, it was brilliant. I forgot how funny it is :D

Liked the second one too, though not as much as the first. Can't WAIT til the third one. Think Shia and Megan are brilliant together in it.

The two Transformer movies he was director for topped all charts and made a huge amount of money, why would you even think there would be a possibility that he wouldnt be wanted as director for the third one?

I'm 29 and have shelves full of Transformer toys!

I watched the second one tonight and what a pile of shite it was.
Michael Bay seems to be making a habbit of ruining movies.
I dread to think what he's done to "A Nightmare On Elm St".

For me the problem with the Transformers films is Bay's dreadful sense of what passes for humour. In a nutshell, chop out most of the parts that ONLY have humans in them as they usually have the worst dialogue (along with most of the scenes with the Twins in TF2) and you'd have some entertaining movies.

This has in fact been done with the first film - there are people out there who create some excellent (unofficial!) 'fan edits' of films that they think can be improved by omitting (or adding) material.

Of course, you're only 'allowed' (I use the term loosely) to download them if you own the original.

The edit of TF1 is called Transformers: Resparked
