Sadly, I think the negative public image will be up there with the great music - people looking at pictures of him in years to come will no doubt be struck by his unusual appearance and the stories about the surgery and all the other alleged bizarre behaviours will persist. The philanthropy will definitely be remembered but it'll take a back seat to all the other "weird" stuff.
