Michael Bay: No one does the intense slow-motion shot like he does!

Yeah, I knew about his start in videos and his inspiration behind his trademark technique, I still think he's really great at it though.
 
Michael Bay has a distinct style that mimics music videos -- where he got his start.

However, actual action scenes he are often very convoluted and down-right confusing because he insists on the MTV-style of cut-cut-cut and falsely shaking the camera to give the scene a kinetic energy that doesn't really exist.

John Woo and other Asian directors (Won Khar Wong; Tsui Hark) are masters at actual slow-motion "Death as Ballet" style action sequences and even Michael Bay admits this is where he gets a lot of his inspiration from.
 
Dude seriously who doesn't love Armageddon? I mean it had some of the greatest action melodrama ever.

And Bad Boys! Bad Boys rocks!
