whats going on here? MGM causing havouc with the james bond films.whats going to happen now? how many film distributors do we have here in the uk? looks like we wont see a bond film for another 2 years +

Cubby Broccoli franchise. Think the family has taken it over. Have to Google.

I have only been to the flicks a couple of times in last many years.

One was Casino Royale . Hated it. Loud and dated.

A few weeks ago, went to see Alice in Wonderland. Not a Bond film but it is very tongue in cheek, packed full of jokes, all star cast. Thoroughly recommended.

You're a good 14years out of date. Brocoli died in 1996. The rights are held by United Artists and Danjaq.
This doesn't really have much to do with broadcasting, perhaps it would suit the Movies forum?

Last time the financial future of MGM was in question there was a 6 year hiatus for Bond between Licence To Kill and Goldeneye.

Maybe this hiatus will be the same and we can get rid of the pitiful Daniel Craig and replace him with someone who has a personality.

My disassembled shed might audition as it has more charisma

Me no like the new Jim Bond movies. So me no care if they make any more or not, if they continue along this road they are on at the moment.

In fact, truth be told, me laugh in the faces of the fools making these movies due to the newest abomination being put on hold!.

HA HA HA!.

PS
Get rid of that muppet Craig!. And bring back the Jim Bond we all know and love!.

PPS

The bestest ever BonRAB IMO are:

Roger Moore.
Timothy Dalton.
Pierce Brosnan.

And in that order.

Siebenburgen, maybe you are too young.

The Bond Franchise did lose the plot many years ago. But they recovered.

Only just. The jokes in the latest films are lame and too full of loud CGI.

I prefer (Connery) and (Moore) Man with the Golden Gun. That era.

I am only 47. Still feel in my 30s. Am I a Dinosaur?

Oh my God. This thread was a struggle to read, bad English and misinformation everywhere.

As soon as the MGM mess is cleared up, expect Bond to reappear soon after. If MGM go bankrupt. I also expect Sony to hold those rights in the near future too.

Strange, I much prefer the Moore Bond films to Sean's, I just found Sean Connery unlikeable and more wooden than Roger, which I may get hit for.

My favourite era's OHMSS to For Your Eyes Only.

I was wondering how just how popular Bond still is:

CR: $594,239,066
QoT: $586,090,727

Blimey. Add on the (presumably) very healthy DVD sales and you can be certain they'll want this particular cash cow up and running as soon as possible.

Never overly keen on Bond tbh, but have enjoyed the reinvention and Craig's brutish depiction after Brosnan's smarmy robot-Bond. Good riddance to invisible cars and ice palaces too. We don't want that sort of rubbish back.
