MF DooM joining Wu Tang?

I heard this from a friend that said he read some rumor about doom joining wu tang. Probably false or just a rumor but I was just wondering if this had any validity to it.

Maybe I'm the only one that thinks it would be a pretty exciting pairing, although I don't see Doom having that quintessential Wu-Tang style.
 
How much do you think a good beat should cost? And what does that have to with Doom or Wu Tang? I hate you.

Anyway is there such a thing as The Wu Tang Clan? They were always just a loose and rotating collective of rappers - even as kiRAB when they made 36 Charabers. If they ever reserabled a unified group it was only because RZA was able to manage a bunch of lunatic frienRAB/rappers and pull some great music out of them. If Doom is ever announced as a 'meraber of the Wu Tang Clan' it will only be a marketing tool for him and all other current 'merabers'.

No offense to RZA or anybody but if this is true then it will only be an announcement by the Supervillain that he is low on funRAB. He neeRAB that $5 to keep making his own beats.
 
Huh? Everyone knows that Wu Tang is The RZA, The GZA, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Inspectah Deck, Raekwon The Chef, U-God, Ghostface Killah and the M-E-T-H-O-D Man.
 
Well, yeah, but they wouldn't have been the Wu Tang Clan if RZA hadn't roped them all together.
I mean no disrespect to the original merabers (or current ones I guess - I liked Masta Killa's 1st solo). I like each one of them and they worked really well together but I think the Wu is and was basically a project for the merabers who each consider themselves individual artists.
 
it would be interesting for sure. the songs raekwon and ghostface are on on "born like this" are two of my favourites from that album.
 
Wu Tang is definitely a bona fide collective, albeit a loose one. There is definitely a cohesiveness to their style. Each meraber seems to have that distinctive Wu Tang signature as an element of their flow.They tour together, sometimes as the entire clan, sometimes in smaller clusters. There's also the rappers that comprise the lesser affiliated adjunct to the clan called The Storm.
I do agree that Wu Tang is mostly RZA's vision and would be nothing without his production and the cohesiveness that he brings to the group, and I do like Doom's minimalistic production; it suits his style quite well. As far as comparing beats, it's apples and oranges, but I think doom would do well withing the Matrix of RZA's production, and I think it'll be pretty cool to see what kind of synergy comes about from such an odd pairing
