Mexican teen dies after bridge shooting by US Border Patrol

okay, missing the point...here's the question: if a felon does not obey an order from an officer, say after pulling some guy over to check ID--the order could be to get out of the car--does the officer have the right to shoot the driver in the head before he can chuck a cigarette lighter at him and drive away? And what would being a felon have to do with the reaction in that situation?

No, you see, we were a bunch of dumbass kids having fun throwing rocks at each other out in the middle of the woods. The kid who was shot was throwing rocks at a government agent at a border security checkpoint.

kids vs kids compared to kids vs armed law enforcement
rural massachusetts compared to a Mexican American border security checkpoint

do you see the difference?

Assuming riot shields are bullet proof, I still doubt every kid will be issued one, retard. Hiding from gunfire is a crime! The kid died for curiosity, should have kept his head down.

you are definitely a racist. dirtbag is a compliment compared to that.

Racist dirtbags are everywhere; it's a serious character flaw. They think they are fine and that's what makes them truly insane.

Person A is in Mexico. Person B is in the United States. Person A is standing 20 feet away from Person B. Person A throws rocks at Person B. Person B shoots person A.

Underfucking stand now you dumb fuck?

BTW, you can substitute 20 feet for 10 feet or for 5 feet if you want and the logic makes sense.

If you want to use semantics, it was a group of smugglers who have a criminal history.

You want to ignore that and stick with the "innocent children just playing ball" bullshit again?

LOl, you don't find that a bit suspect do you? One kid in particular required two bullets in the head. Good call. Jesus Christ.

No shit Sherlock. Now we see beyond a doubt they were not on the bridge, so keep pissing in the wind...

In the past few weeks it is evident people do not understand--YOU DO NOT POKE THE FUCKING BEAR. Whether it be Turks attempting to break naval blockades or kids assaulting BP agents, there is a contingent screaming about what could and should have been done to protect those poking the bear, forgetting what the catalyst was for the initiation of force. Let's talk about that instead.

So they walk across the bridge in broad daylight for a smuggling operation; the officers stumble across and arrest two of them while the others throw stones... something's not right about that and it doesn't agree with the previous account of a chase into Mexico. And "started shooting" doesn't explain why one kid was shot twice in the head.

Oh, so it is the officers fault for not wearing riot gear instead of the criminal smugglers fault for assaulting said officer.

Could your arguments be any more ridiculous? You might as well be saying its the woman's fault for being raped because she dressed enticingly.

So then you might as well shoot the kid you already arrested to prevent him from taking your gun after you get knocked out by a nice smooth and accurate river stone.

Just kill yourself.

your example doesn't match the situation that happened so I corrected it to better fit what happened.

Now, in the corrected scenario that more closely resembles the actual situation, yes he would have the right to use lethal force.

as for being a felon, it demonstrates that this 15 year old drug smuggler has a history of committing felonies as well as knowing exactly where he was and that his intentions of sneaking into the US were intentional.

hope that helps you better understand things.

twice in the head.... ooooff.. thats rough man.
A guy with such a good shot can't disable the little prick in the leg?

because it's law enforcement and therefore they must be lying because we all know they are nothing but lying murderous thugs.

oh and drug smugglers are just innocent and only doing it because of society.

If the white suburban kid was throwing stones at me with the intent to injure or kill me, I'd shoot his ass too.

14 year olds are teenagers, and are at the age where they know damn well enough that what they do carries consequences, and their actions carry intent. This wasn't a 5 or 6 year old that has a limited concept of reality.

I can guarantee this kid wasn't throwing rocks at border patrol agents in order to see if they had candy inside their heads like a pinata.

Look, I can't even believe this is such a controversy. A 15 year old is not a child, a 15 year old knows not to throw rocks at people. A police officer (or border patrol agent) is issued a firearm and trained to use it. They are also responsible for that firearm. This means that if someone, or a group of people, are attacking you in a way that could knock you unconscious, resulting in potential loss of control of said firearm, you do you what you have to do to prevent that scenario.

Like someone else said already, time does not go slow-mo like it does in the matrix when you pull your gun out, I doubt he intended to hit the boy in the head but in the heat of the moment you can't really rely on shooting for appendages, he likely shot for center mass as was already suggested.

For the nonsense about what if this had been an American in a US suburb... that is called dropping context. The fact is this was an illegal alien who has priors for smuggling across the border, when border patrol agents attempted to arrest people he was with he and others in the group started throwing rocks at the agents.

Even if it were a group of American teenagers who started throwing rocks at police officers in a suburban neighborhood while the officers were trying to make an arrest I would feel EXACTLY the same way as I do about this case.

The officers have the responsibility of retaining control of their issued firearm, if they are knocked unconscious from a rock to the head (which can EASILY happen so knock of the retarded nonsense) then they lose control of that firearm and put INNOCENT people in danger.

Smugglers who are in the US illegally and who are assaulting officers are NOT innocent people, stop treating them as if they were.

Since when do we feel bad for people who are doing wrong? Don't cross the border illegally, don't smuggle while crossing the border illegally, and don't throw rocks at border agents while smuggling and crossing the border illegally and you won't be shot at. If it were up to me we would have guard towers ever 50 meters and shoot on sight, laws are meaningless if not enforced, and the wave of illegals sweeping into this country every year tells me we are not adequately enforcing the laws.
