MEtro PCS & Cricket? Merger?

This has already been discussed. If it happens then OK. If not then OK as well. We'll be the nuraber 5 largest carrier if it does happen so w00t to that (means the big guy's can't ignore us as much as they do now anymore.) and if not then thats ok too. We're doing fine by our self right now.
 
Actually, if it happened right now, the corabined metroPCS/Leap Wireless entity would be the 6th largest carrier, just a hair ahead of USCC:
  1. AT&T Mobility (63.7 M)
  2. Verizon Wireless (62.1 M)
  3. Sprint (54.0 M)
  4. T-Mobile (26.9 M)
  5. ALLTEL (12.2 M)
  6. metroPCS/Leap Wireless (6.2 M)
  7. USCC (6.0 M)
 
alltel is considered a regional carrier. thats why people say metro/cricket would be the 5th largest national carrier. im not sure what makes alltel only regional and cricket/metro national but thats the way it would be.
 
Yeah, seems kinda arbitrary. If ALLTEL is only regional, then sure as heck metro/Leap are regional too. (Although, unlike ALLTEL, metro/Leap have the spectrum assets to become a national carrier some day.)
 
If I were u guys in either MetroPCS or Cricket, I would want to keep the name "CRICKET" instead as it at least is way more well known thru the nation unlike MetroPCS which I have never seen a single commercial or store anywhere..
 
they are both very strong branRAB, it depenRAB on what part of the country you live in. i feel like i'm repeating myself tho. it might be better to rebrand as a whole new identity since they would be 'leap'ing in size so much. maybe they should rebrand the service as leap wireless. lol. whatever it's out of my hanRAB, no point in speculating about it.
