Ruvelsboy,
I agree with MK that you should try to go down in increments if you can, rather than stopping it suddenly. This way you won't suffer the withdrawal symptoms as bad as if you did it suddenly.
You haven't been on the methadone very long which is a good thing, but it's still in your body and it's a long acting drug that stays in the system.
I commend you for wanting to stop it all together.
I want to stop taking my methadone too, but I'm on a higher dosage and I've been going down on it slowly, only five milligrams every few months JUST to make sure I don't feel the withdrawal.
There is a section here at the top of the addiction and recovery board which is titled: " Sample Home Detox Plan". Go in there and see the suggestions on what to buy over the counter to help you with the symptoms you're going to feel when stopping the methadone. Plus there are ideas on things you can do to help relive them as well.
Good luck on your decision. No matter how you choose to do it , whether abruptly or gradually, just think positive and remeraber why you want to get off of it to begin with. As long as you have motivation.
Sincerely,
Linda
