Meteclopramide - extra relief when you need it

Most people know meteclopramide (Maxalon, Reglan) as a pill or nausea.

Even most doctors forget it can be very helpful on GORD, because it is a "prokinetic"

That is, it encourages the stomach to empty, so there isnt anything in it to back up, it also tightens the oesophegal sphincter, so that anything in the stomach wont be able to enter the gullet.

If you sometimes still get symptoms while taking a PPI, it might be worth discussing with your doctor. When I get the unplesant regurgitation, I take a tablet of meteclopramide and a couple of Tums, and symptoms gone!
