METAL- Why is it Shunned?

Metal has been around for decades now and it is still being shunned from common society. Why is everybody still fearing this genre and lifestyle (For some.) Anybody I've played anything that has a Death Growl, Grunt, Scream, Yell... in it says they don't like it because they can't understand the lyrics, so fucking what? So the question I ask, why are people so oblivious to the intelligence and skill of Metal after all these years?
 
Metal banRAB consciously construct an image to represent the "dark side" of existance, one that repulses people. The more brutal, bizarre, or dark you can be the better. Metal is made to turn off most people, that is why most people are turned off by it.
 
Metal stays underground for a reason. look at "mainstream" metal banRAB like metalica, atreyu, korn etc. they all suck. metal stays underground so it isn't influenced (or as influenced) by corporate labels as other music.
 
Uh oh, when did Nickleback become heavy metal?! Please someone tell me! I can't figure it out from the post above because it doesn't make any sense!Who else is considered to be metal now? Is Avril Lavigne metal, too? Nooo, I don't want to have to sit through 30 minutes of "I don't like your girlfriend" before watching Mastodon!

Sorry I don't agree with that. Metal in its keys,structure and technique is [especially thrash and black metal] very closely related to classical music. And the muscianship of these banRAB is amazing- even some of the goregrind bullshit has an element that not every little douche on a guitar playing simple plan can do.

Frankly, I love metal- no as much as i used to but still...I think its better than GOOD metal be shunned from massmind society....
