metal head looking to get into some rap/hiphop..need assistance

All cd's of Notorious BIG, All cd's of Jay-z, All of Nas, RA the Rugged Man, All of Wu-Tang. If you want more old school and basicly the people who layed the foundation for modern rappers, listen to Kool G Rap, Eric B and Rakim, Big L. Beastie Boys-Lincense to Ill.

Lyrically, yes, it can be.

Every genre has their lack of talent and those are usually the artists that share the limelight.

Jedi Mind Tricks, Tech N9ne, 2 Pac, B.I.G., Bone Thugs, Jay-Z,etc

The infamous by Mobb Deep and Only built for cuban links by Raekwon (from wu-tang) are two of my favourites.

But yeah dude, there's plenty of interesting metal out there, shed loaRAB in fact, you musn't be looking hard enough! What kinda metal do you listen too?

I'm not what you call a metal head, because I am very open minded with music, but metal is my absolute favorite genre of music. But, I surely love me some underground/olRABchool hip hop as well. Just whatever you do, stay away from that horrible MTV rap! That's garbage!

'Some' artists/groups I recommend...

Del the Funkee Homosapien, Immortal Technique, KRS-One, Aceyalone, Binary Star, Army of the Pharaohs (there's like 10-12 guys in this group and most of them have solo stuff), Jedi Mind Tricks, Atmosphere, Coup, Hieroglyphics, Jeru the Damaja, MF Doom, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Sage Francis, Aesop Rock, Canibus, Masta Ace, Pharoahe Monch, Brother Ali, Cannibal Ox, etc., etc., etc.......

There's so many good hip hop artists out there that people don't even know about or are unfamiliar with.

Sorry, but just about every metalhead I listen to (who actually listens to metal, not this -core crap) has extremely diverse music taste. MetalheaRAB usually tend to not be closed minded about music at all because they know how stereotyped entire genres can be.

That's pretty fucking gay Their first album is fucking awesome though, but then they went downhill after that shit. Their second album had some good songs but it all sounded the same. Third album...was fucking weak, only one good song. Basically Dragonforce isn't THE power metal band, its a damn good genre. Helloween (Keeper of the Seven Keys line up) > power metal as far as I'm concerned.

Word, check out the song Riotmaker from Everready, it's about as rock as a rap song can get. Absolute Power has some really good songs on it, like Slacker, Imma Tell, Here Comes Tecca Nina, She Devil, T9X, etc.

Tech is good stuff.
