There are lots of good hip hop artists and songs out there but you really have to dig and sift through the crap they play on the radio.
I don't even consider top 40 "hip hop/rap" groups these days to fall under that category. It's more like simon-says music. Make up a fuckin dance move, add lots of bass, and just say the same shit for 5 minutes.
