After Miss Streep's record 15th nomination, what do you think of the woman widely considered the greatest living actress?

You may be aware that I am a fan. :D
 
Total legend! All the praise and awarRAB are well deserved. Film, TV, theatre... even musicals- she always turns in a flawless performance and has proven her versatility time and time again. Aside from that, she seems like such a genuinely classy person. Fantastically down-to-earth, not even remotely Hollywood..
 
Loved her in Sophie's Choice and Devil Wears Prada.

Must be a lovely feeling to be held in such high regard by your peers re. Kate Winslet's acceptance speech and many other peoples througout the award ceremonies.

I don't think she's 'too good' for Mamma Mia - was nice to see her add ANOTHER string to her bow
 
I agree with all of that ... although I've actually not seen Dvil Wears Prada.

I think she's a wonderfully talented actress and an asset to the film industry. Her performance in Doubt (actually, ALL of the perfomances in Doubt!) saved it from being an average film to a must-see, if just to witness the wonderful display by the cast.

There's Meryl Streep and then there are other actresses. An exaggeration, but personally I don't think anyone comes close.

Can't fault her. Doubt aside, it is a shame she can't get better roles these days.
 
I can remember seeing her in Kramer vs Kramer as a kid, seen so many of her films, she seems to be able to turn her hand to anything from comedy "Death Becomes Her" to a dawdy nun in "Doubt". Great actress
She's not my favourite actress though, that goes to Bette Davis.
 
i watched Sophie's Choice a few years ago, and ever since i have been a huuge fan!...every chance i get to watch a film with her in, i do so, even if it looks rubbish...i will watch a film throughout, no matter how bad, if she's in it!

Not once have i seen a bad performance from her, she is a truly great actress! Not only the best living actress, but probably one of the best actresses ever...15 nominations, 5 of which should have been wins (Doubt included) say it all

Sophie's Choice was one of THE great performances by an Actor/Actress

I just looooove Meryl Streep, she's leagues better than anyone else...and there's something about her that i find very attractive aswell :D
 
I've only seen her in Death Becomes Her, Manchurian Candidate and Music of the Heart and she is great in all 3.

Can't believe she is Jessica Lovejoy in the Simpsons aswell, just found that out thanks to IMDB

Meryl is a living Legend!
She can play any role and her performances are flawless.

I've seen her in Mamma Mia, The Devil Wears Prada, A Series of Unfortunate Events & Prime - all very different characters, but totally believable, brilliant performances.
I now want to see 'Sophie's Choice' as that seems to be one of her "main" films and I've heard so many brilliant reviews.

Not only that but I've seen numerous interviews with her, and during every single one she has come across as a lot of fun & totally down to earth.

She is indeed rare --- top quality actress, well the BEST [she's in a class of her own] yet still pretty normal and down-to-earth [in the way that you can relate to her]

Can you tell I'm a massive fan :p
